John Wright is a seasoned gaming industry leader with nearly 15 years of experience across growth, publishing, and operations in mobile and digital games. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Turborilla, the Swedish game studio best known for the Mad Skills franchise, which has amassed almost 250 million downloads worldwide. He stepped into the CEO role in June 2025, marking his first chief executive appointment and signalling Turborilla’s next growth phase under his leadership. At Turborilla, Wright is focused on scaling the business, expanding the Mad Skills brand and strengthening global partnerships. 

Before Turborilla, Wright held senior leadership roles across prominent gaming companies:

At Kwalee, he was Vice President of Mobile Games, where he helped scale the studio’s portfolio past one billion downloads and led a global team of around 180 people. His work there also earned him industry recognition, including a TIGA Award nomination for Outstanding Leadership in 2024. 

At Luna Labs, he served in a founding leadership role as Vice President of Operations, playing a key part in the studio’s acquisition by ironSource and then Unity, leading the post-merger integration of teams and technologies.

His career began outside of games in finance, and he later transitioned into mobile gaming with a focus on user acquisition, monetisation, and growth strategy, areas he’s widely respected for today. In addition to executive roles, Wright also acts as a strategic advisor and board member to other gaming companies, helping guide growth, go-to-market strategy, and product success. 

Overall, John Wright is regarded as a growth-oriented executive with a strong track record in scaling mobile games businesses, leading large teams and driving strategic development across the gaming and tech ecosystems.
