If you don't have a REAL ID by May 7, you can still travel by showing a U.S. Passport as an alternative identification. Additionally, if you live in certain states like Washington, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, or Vermont, your enhanced driver’s license will be accepted instead of a REAL ID. However, without a compliant ID, it may be more difficult to fly domestically.
